If Nigel Gets Stuck …….

The other day, when Nigel was in the garden, just pottering ......
stuck 1
…….. when he spotted a gap in the fish pond wall that he had never seen before ……

….. well, it was like a red rag to a bull …… and before we could say, “No Nigel, leave it alone!”  in an as matter of factly and laid back way as we could muster to downplay the situation so as not to instil any panic, because to us,  the hole looked a little on the snug side even for Nigel …………

…… but in a shot he was in there ……. and was gone …. for about ten to fifteen minutes, during which time all we could hear was a lot of puffing and panting, and perhaps a teensy note of regret and apprehension from the little fella, as indeed the hole was proving to be a tight fit! Then we heard a squeaky voice plaintively asking us to stand by the said hole and call his name  ….. because once he had got inside he found it was very, very, very, dark indeed and couldn’t see his way out …and he reasoned that if we called “Nigel” he might be able to follow the direction of our voices to find his way out …….. at this stage it got worrying ……

Oh …… Nigel, Nigel, Nigel  …. it took another good five minutes to see him, thankfully,  re-emerge …..
stuck 5
……. very dishevelled, very dirty, with a wild wide eyed expression on his face ……. “I think” he said between puffs and pants “…. that was a hole too far!” What is he like?

Don't bring Nigel to any caves, such as Wookey Hole or Old Mother Shipton's Cave. You could lose him fir weeks.

Not surprising that hole in the wall would get his attention; way too good an opportunity for a real adventure!.....thank goodness he didn't have to wait until he got slimmer, like Winnie the Pooh stuck in Rabbit's doorway, to get out!.....Dianne
